  • Rickie G. Rush is the Senior Pastor of the Inspiring Body of Christ Church. An internationally acclaimed speaker, teacher, and master illustrator, he is known for the engaging and humorous ways in which he simplifies the Word of God. Born to a single mother, he experienced tragedy and change early in life. The death of his mother, subsequent adoption, and calling to the ministry at 10 years old all combined to transform him from a devastated young boy in despair to a triumphant man of God filled with unlimited compassion.

Pastor Rush earned a secondary teaching degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, which led him to teach theatre arts for 17 years at Skyline High School in Dallas, TX. Later, he obtained a Doctor of Divinity degree from Rialto Bible College, which afforded him the opportunity to instruct adults and pastors at the collegiate level. Among his major educational influences were debate, oratory, and music. His love for music led to the organization of several gospel choirs. During his school and teaching years, he also maintained a rigorous preaching schedule. This was the beginning of what would lead to one of God’s greatest assignments in Pastor Rush’s life.

In 1990, Pastor Rush founded the Inspiring Body of Christ Church (IBOC) and church membership flourished from tens to more than 15,000. He has ensured that IBOC fulfills the words of Jesus found in Matthew 4:19: “Follow Me and I will Make You Fishers of Men.” IBOC is well known for holding the largest privately owned aquarium in the world as featured on the popular Animal Planet television show, Tanked. The aquarium is utilized as a critical ministry tool that has touched the lives of thousands of people. His energy devoted to ensuring people are restored and have the capacity to thrive alongside others drives the unique methods he utilizes to impart wisdom and teach biblical principles.

Because of his passion for education, he founded the University of Dreams which currently offers programs for children as young as six weeks old under the prestigious Mary L. Rush Children’s College. The Leadership and Arts Academy enrolls elementary school students.

His love for teaching God’s Word steered him toward a myriad of local and national television and radio programs. Using his gift of communication, he has crossed continents and cultural boundaries to reach diverse audiences. He is the author of two books, May I Have Your Order, Please? and The Pendulum: Come Out Swinging Through the Difficult Times, and two plays, which he has also produced. Propelled to spread God’s message of hope and encouragement to the masses, Pastor Rush has developed and produced numerous conferences.

His genuine love for people, coupled with his humanitarian activities, has earned him recognition from several organizations including an NAACP award, the Dallas I.S.D. George Washington Carver Creative Learning Center “Dr. Rickie G. Rush Outstanding Achievement Award,” The State of Texas House of Representatives “Outstanding Texan Award,” and the All Nations University in Ghana, West Africa named in his honor the “Dr. Rickie G. Rush Scientific Research Centre.”

Pastor Rush resides in Dallas, Texas with his loving wife Beverly. They are the proud parents of daughter Kristian, and grandson Kaiden.

“Having a dream breathes life into a person.”

  • “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” As a successful elementary classroom educator and principal in the past, Sis. Sherrye Vaden found herself turning to this quote often. At the University of Dreams at IBOC, she hopes to help birth, nurture, and mature every scholar and faculty member’s aspirations and goals.

Humbly serving as the Director of Education for IBOC & U of Dreams, Sis. Vaden earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary academics and her Master of Education degree in educational leadership, both from Dallas Baptist University. She channels the endurance God gives her to work diligently, serve joyfully, behave professionally, and honor God spiritually. This is her dream realized. She is focused and intent on helping to carry out the vision of IBOC Church and U of Dreams school system under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Rickie G. Rush.

Currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education in educational leadership at Texas A&M Commerce, she welcomes all support and input to continue to fulfill each academic standard and goal set for the school.

Earning educator certifications for early childhood education, elementary reading, English as a second language supplemental, Sis. Vaden utilizes a hands-on, constructivist approach to learning. She hopes to make a difference every single day as she helps to prepare 21st century learners with a rich, memorable academic learning experience.

  • In I Kings 3, God appeared to Solomon in a dream and said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give to you.” What a statement! Solomon was overwhelmed and confessed that he didn’t really know how to be an awesome king like his father, King David. “I don’t know the ropes, hardly know the ins and outs of this job… So here’s what I want,” Solomon said. “Give me a God-listening heart so I can lead your people well.”

At the University of Dreams, it is our desire to LEAD WELL. The world of education can be overwhelming, and the task of meeting the academic, social, and emotional needs of our students can seem like too much to handle. It’s a difficult task to shape and mold the minds of young people… and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

After 18 years of teaching and leading in public schools, I’ve learned that anything can change for the better when you listen to God and work hard. I’ve also learned that yesterday’s wins won’t win today’s game. A day by day commitment to do our absolute best will be the key to our success. I’m committed. Are you?

When Solomon asked for a God-listening heart, God’s reply was cool. “There’s never been one like you before; and there’ll be no one after.” On top of all of that, God gave him wealth, glory and a long life. Solomon woke up and said “WHAT A DREAM!” As we take this inspirational, educational journey together, I hope you’ll be able to say the same thing. What a University!… of DREAMS!

  • I believe the children are the lifeline of each generation and they should be nurtured and trained according to God‘s Word so that they will not depart from it. My prayer is to impact this generation starting with the babies in order to change the generations to come.

“Anyone who welcomes a child like this on My behalf, welcomes Me, and anyone who welcomes Me welcomes my Father who sent me.” Mark 9:37

My goal is to instill Christ-like behavior in our children by welcoming them through love, encouragement, acceptance, and praise for their efforts and to help them explore their imaginations and creativity.
